Canine Enrichment

Ways to enhance your dogs life

I wanted to be sure to bring to your attention a very important part of being a pet parent. Have you heard of the term canine enrichment? There are blogs and facebook groups devoted to this and we wanted to start our own series of videos and articles to give you some ways to provide your dog with enrichment.

What is canine enrichment?

Canine enrichment is finding ways to provide your dog with mentally stimulating activities. When dogs engage in behaviors that use their body and mind in new and novel ways we find them to be more physically, emotionally and mentally satisfied

This series of topics will address ways you can provide enrichment for your dog at home. Going on walks and practicing your training are great ways to enrich your dog’s life and we want to help you find easy ways to add to that for when you are busy, it is raining, your dog is left home alone, your dog is spending time rated or in their pen, or you have to be on zoom call all day.

Our first part of this canine enrichment series features food toys and puzzles. Our dogs need to eat and studies show dogs take more enjoyment from eating with food puzzles. Watch this video for a variety of food dispensing options that you can try at home with your dogs.
