About: Sean Miller KPA CTP, CPDT-KA
From a young age, Sean has lived with and cared for many species of animals, and has been deeply interested in their behavior. During his childhood, his dream job changed from zoologist to marine biologist to veterinarian, but it always revolved around observing and improving the lives of animals. As a young adult, Sean attended college to become a web developer while working a series of relatively unfulfilling jobs from fast food to quality assurance and security. However his spark for animal behavior was eventually reignited when he adopted and started training his first dog, Finn. Soon after discovering his passion for dog training, he began working at a dog daycare and volunteering with the local animal control office in order to gain real-world experience working with dogs, while reading every book on the subject he could get his hands on. After some time, and a couple of promotions, he went back to school, this time at Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior. During his time in the KPA program, he gained an extensive technical knowledge, and hands-on skill teaching pet owners and training pet dogs, which he continues to hone and improve both through additional experience at “I Said Sit”, and through his commitment to continuing education. Sean currently lives in West LA with his girlfriend, Raquel, his two dogs, Finn and Potato, and his cat, Toothless.
