Private Dog Training Lessons

Private dog training lessons are for people who want our guidance on how to train their own dog.  With these programs, we teach your dog the new exercises and then show you exactly how to practice at home.  Lessons can be arranged either at your home, at our training school, or a combination of both.

These programs follow a general curriculum, but depending on the needs of your dog it can be customized for you.  We give you printed instructions so that you have guidance as to how to practice your homework.  We can address your individual behavioral problems in this series as well, working out a behavioral modification program and giving you the steps to implement it.  Your consistent follow through and participation at home is integral to the success of the training.  Surprisingly, almost all training programs can be successfully completed at our school and the lessons are less expensive if you schedule them there.

Initial lessons are an hour and a half consultation.  Then you can do one or more individual hour-long lessons or a series package at a discounted rate.  People usually choose a package of 6 lessons for one dog and 7 lessons if there are multiple dogs in the household.  If you purchase the series within 1 week of the consultation, the full consultation fee will be applied to your series.  If you purchase a package after that it will entail starting the series over and doing another consult.

Individual Dog Training Lessons and Consultations

If you are not sure which program is right for you, we suggest that you do a consultation or a single lesson first.  We will determine whether your dog just needs some basic training (GED – Generally Educated Dog) or if you really need a behavioral modification program (Special Education).

Private In-Home Weekly Dog & Puppy Tutoring

Personal Daily In-Home Dog & Puppy Tutoring

The 4 week Daily In-Home allows us to actually train your dog right where it lives.  We teach it to wait at your front door and gate for instance.  We practice walking in your neighborhood and past your neighbor dogs.  We also guide you with all the day-to-day issues so you know exactly what to do when we aren’t there.

The 4-week Daily In-Home program is a complete training package for you and your dog.  Our trainers work with your dog three days a week and teach the dog all the new lessons.  Then one time a week we do a lesson with the family members to go over exactly what the dog has learned that week.  As the training progresses we take your dog to various locations around the neighborhood to practice in different environments and around more distractions.
