Dog Day School

Daily Dog Training programs are our most popular training programs.  There are two parts of all training programs, the dog needs regular practice so the new lessons become habit and the owner and family need to know what to do so that the training transfers.  Your dog gets training daily and we include a private lesson with the family each week your dog is in one of the Day Training programs.

Dog Day School is available as a Dog Day Care only program or as a Boarding Training Program.  Each has different benefits depending on your particular needs and time availability.  There are Day School options for both puppies and for older dogs.  Pick up and delivery service is also available in our School Bus.

Puppy Day School

This is a special program for puppies under 5 months.  If you want to get your puppy off on the right start with some socializing, good habits, and the beginning of its lessons then the Day Kindergarten Program is a perfect starting point.  We will get your puppy started on the road to becoming the good young adult that you want it to be.

We start right at the beginning with teaching it not to bite, and which are the right toys to chew on.  This program teaches the dog to listen and sets the foundation for good manners like not jumping, waiting to go outside, how to walk on a leash and housebreaking.  We also like to teach every puppy a few tricks so that it knows how to have some fun.

Private Day School

When we train your dog it gets individual interaction with staff and trainers.  Since we do all the daily training, your dog learns very fast.  We have several trainers working with your dog so the dog should mind different people right from the gate.  We start inside in our training area without distractions.  Over the course of the training we move to different areas in the neighborhood so your dog gets a chance to practice around distractions.  In between lessons your dog has its own place to have quiet time with bedding and its own toys.

 20 Days of school for your dog, school days are M-F: During school your dog will have lessons during the day with our trainers at our training facility.  Your dog also has the chance to have some social time with other dogs and a chance to go out for its bathroom needs.  We have three special play areas all with drainable turf for their potty needs in a clean enclosure.  Your dog is not subject to the random overstimulation of a cage free facility, nor is your dog going to be confined in a crate for hours during the day.

4 private lessons during school days (1 per week): These lessons are to give you weekly feedback and show you where your dog is in its training program.  We will practice with you so your dog minds at home and so that the training transfers seamlessly.  In addition these lessons are to work with you and your family to fine tune in-home issues that may arise during the program.  This will make sure you stay on track during the whole training program.

Special Education Program for Dogs with Behavioral Problems

This is a private training program designed for dogs that need more than basic obedience.  Obedience is included as a part of training because it is an integral part of the foundation, but this program is more intensive and will help to change the way your dog behaves and how you behave with your dog.  We address behavioral problems like: aggression to dogs and/or humans, separation anxiety, fear, excessive barking, adult house breaking, severe destructive behavior and more.

This program is a combination of lessons and training in and out of school and includes:

Initial consultation at the start of training: During the consultation you will meet with a trainer and review your dog’s history and issues. You will be given some homework to start laying a foundation at home so that when your dog begins Day School he is ready to learn.  The goal is to open your mind and your dog’s mind so that we can start to change behavior and get your dog on the “Earn a Gold Star” program.  Click here to read more about laying a foundation and learn to earn.

20 Days of school for your dog, school days are M-F: During school your dog will have lessons during the day with our trainers at our training facility.   Training includes basic obedience much like the Day School program and in addition to that we work with your dog in scenarios best suited to assist your dog with its specific behavioral problems.

4 private lessons during school days (1 per week): These lessons are to give you weekly feedback and show you where your dog is in its training program.  We will give you some lessons to practice at home and continue to fine tune problems that may arise during the program.

All included lessons are scheduled at school during school days. If it is necessary, or you prefer it, lessons can be done in your home or on Saturday for an additional fee.   Not all dogs respond to training at the same rate.  Occasionally we see dogs that require a little more time than others.

Personal Daily In-Home Dog & Puppy Tutoring

The 4 week Daily In-Home allows us to actually train your dog right where it lives.  We teach it to wait at your front door and gate for instance.  We practice walking in your neighborhood and past your neighbor dogs.  We also guide you with all the day-to-day issues so you know exactly what to do when we aren’t there.

The 4-week Daily In-Home program is a complete training package for you and your dog.  Our trainers work with your dog three days a week and teach the dog all the new lessons.  Then one time a week we do a lesson with the family members to go over exactly what the dog has learned that week.  As the training progresses we take your dog to various locations around the neighborhood to practice in different environments and around more distractions.
